Some pieces arrive fully imagined. Others reveal themselves, layer by layer.
This one began with a prompt from the homeowner: “We want something that feels inherited—but entirely ours.” That tension between legacy and individuality became the heartbeat of the project.
The form is a center stage piece, commanding attention. A bow-front silhouette nods to 18th-century sideboards, softened by contemporary restraint. The cabinet’s structure is solid walnut, but it’s the burl that draws you in—each panel carefully matched for balance, movement, and depth.
We added hand-cut fluting to the upper drawers for rhythm, and placed each keyhole like punctuation. The marble top wasn’t an afterthought—it was selected to echo the softness of the curves, while grounding the entire form in light.
This isn’t replica work. It’s a reinterpretation. A piece that feels settled, storied, and ready for the next generation.
